Poem Three - 30/30 for National Poetry Month

Sounding the Rain
for Angelyna

In a brilliant salty storm
Wind walked with thunder
Tree frogs flooded onto the porch
celebrating in the cool night

Wind danced around with thunder
Earth opened up her immense arms
Celebrating the cool night
lovingly she embraced rain

Earth stretched her arms to sky
Trees threw back their heads laughing
Lovingly they all saluted rain
With their swaying branches full

Trees threw back their heads laughing
In thanks for the rain they'd prayed for
With their swaying branches full
And blue lizards sang a watery song

In thanks for the rain they'd prayed for
The town's people danced in the streets
And blue lizards sang a watery song
In a brilliant salty storm
