Poem One - 30 poems during National Poetry Month

In the morning night pulls me back
With her claws silky and lulling
Lingering in that familiar web
I suddenly remember it's time

With her claws silky and lulling
She's kept me long in her dark cloak
I suddenly remember it's time
Sitting straight up in bed I find my eyes

She's kept me long in her dark cloak
Tucked into dreams with life's riddles
Sitting straight up in bed I find my eyes
Diving into the other side of night

Tucked into dreams with life's riddles
I untangle the knotted chains that bind
Diving into the other side of night
Clues to live by seep through the dream catcher

I untangle the knotted chains that bind
Eagle dance into the light of a new day
Clues to live by seep through the dream catcher
In the morning night pulls me back
