Poem 6 - 30/30 - 4/2009

The Sea and the Deity

No one knows what's at the bottom of the sea
Once the sea fell in love, and invited a deity to live with her
The deity loved the sea so much he wanted to learn it all
So he visited every corner of her world and then wanted to leave

Once the sea fell in love and invited a deity to live with her
She loved him so much she let him in on every secret
So he visited every corner of her world and then wanted to leave
The Sea was so hurt she tried to hold him in her net

She loved him so much she let him in on every secret
He said Sea, if you love me you have to let me go
The Sea was so hurt she tried to hold him down in her net
Now that her love knew all her secrets how could he leave her alone

He said Sea, if you love me you have to let me be
But Sea knew no one else could learn of her hidden mysteries
When she told him this he said, there is no way I'd ever tell
Now that her love knew all her secrets how could be so cold

But Sea knew no one else could ever learn of her hidden mysteries
And when She told him this he said, there is no way I'd ever tell
So to allow him to leave she held him down and cut out his tongue
No one knows what is at the bottom of the sea
